Welcome to the National Coalition for Hospice and Palliative Care! As the newest member of the Coalition, we look forward to collaborating with you and onboarding your organization. We’ll need a few things from you to get started. But, first, let us introduce ourselves!
Our members at the NCHPC work together to develop consensus-based actions and recommendations to ensure all patients, families, and caregivers have equitable access to quality care for serious illness. Our mission and vision is that all patients, their families, and caregivers will have equitable access to quality palliative care and hospice care.
The NCHPC Members represent leading professional organizations dedicated to advancing equitable access to quality care for serious illness. Our member organizations span the interdisciplinary workforce that delivers palliative care and hospice care. This includes more than 5,500 physicians, 1,000 physician associates, 11,000 nurses, 5,000 chaplains, 8,000 social workers, researchers, and pharmacists, along with over 1,800 palliative care programs and 5,300 hospices.
How We Collaborate: Workgroups and Committees
Advocacy Advises the Coalition on potential legislative and regulatory agenda items.
Communications Focuses on communication challenges, opportunities and strategies and collaborates on messaging for the field.
Equity and Inclusion Focuses on advancing health equity for patients with serious illness and their caregivers.
Quality Identifies gaps in quality and performance improvement measures and encourages the development of new measures.
Pediatric Division Activates interdisciplinary collaborations and create real-world solutions to continuously improve access to pediatric palliative care.
How We’re Governed
Our governance includes the policies, systems, and processes that control decision-making and align the operational framework with the organizational goals and vision. The Board of Directors is responsible for governance including setting direction, making policy and strategy decisions, overseeing and monitoring organizational performance, and ensuring overall accountability.
