The Coalition submitted comments to CMS on the Medicare Program; Revisions to Payment Policies under the Physician Fee Schedule and Other Revisions to Part B for CY 2019, expressing significant concerns regarding the proposed payment changes. The Coalition urged CMS to withdraw the Evaluation and Management coding proposal which the Coalition believes will harm seriously ill patients and the hospice and palliative care professionals who care for them. The Coalition also commented on several other issues including use of communication technologies, proposals to address opioid use disorder and MIPS eligible clinicians (including social workers).
