This year has been one of transition and change for the National Coalition for Hospice and Palliative Care (NCHPC). Since 2004, the NCHPC coalition has enabled members to cooperate, communicate, and collaborate as a unified voice at a national level on key issues including advocacy, quality, payment, research, and workforce. We’ve seen advancements such as new funding for research this year as well as challenges ranging from program integrity concerns to payment models and quality.
Our stakeholders recognize the value and importance of the Coalition’s shared goals and partnerships as we strive to improve care of people with serious or life-limiting illnesses by convening the field, advocating for equitable policies and improved health outcomes, establishing best practices, and sharing resources. In the coming year, we look forward to gathering feedback from stakeholders on what works and where we can improve as a coalition to ensure all patients, families and caregivers will have equitable access to quality hospice and palliative care.
Lastly, the NCHPC remains a national leader poised for growth and transition in the new year, allowing us to advocate more effectively for the patients, families, and caregivers who are always the intended beneficiaries of our work. We are stronger and better together.
