The National Consensus Project Clinical Practice Guidelines for Quality Palliative Care, 3rd edition (2013)
The mission of the National Consensus Project for Quality Palliative Care is to create a set of clinical practice guidelines to guide the growth and expansion of palliative care in the United States. The current 3rd edition (2013) was produced through a consensus process among the leading professional hospice and palliative care organizations. The Guidelines are in process of being updated to improve access to quality palliative care for all people with serious illness, regardless of setting, diagnosis, prognosis, or age. The target publication date for the NCP Clinical Practice Guidelines for Quality Palliative Care, 4th edition, is Summer 2018.
